Ruth Lennon is the director of Craobh Technology Consulting providing personalised solutions to industry problems. Ruth has 20 years of experience as a lecturer in the Department of Computing in Atlantic Technological University, Letterkenny. Ruth research interests focus on large scale systems with particular focus on DevOps and Cloud technologies. She has been a member of many technical panels and committees including NSAI\/TC 2\/SC 11 on cloud and distributed systems, NSAI\/TC 2\/SC 2 on Software Engineering\u00a0 and ISO\/IEC JTC 1\/AG 3 \u201cOpen Source Software\u201d. Ruth is a member of the working group developing the P2675 DevOps standard.\u00a0\u00a0Ruth\u2019s goal in DevOps is to ensure that security and performance are seen as core to development projects just as it is in configuration projects. Ruth has worked on security projects in the area of applying DevOps to support Data Science. In addition, Ruth is a member of the ACM, ACM-W, IEEE, IEEE-WIE and a senior member of the IEEE Computer Society. Ruth is the Chair of the ACM-W Europe.\u00a0 Ruth has worked for many years with the ACM-W and the IEEE UK&I WIE to improve the numbers of women in computing. Robert (Rob) O\u2019Connor is a computing lecturer in SETU, Waterford, and is the programme leader for the BSc (Hons) in Applied Computing (WD001). Robert graduated with a degree in Computing from WIT in 1999. He then worked as a programmer for a number of organisations before returning to Waterford as a postgraduate student in 2002. He successfully completed an MSc by Research with the TSSG in 2004 and took up a full-time lecturing position with WIT in 2006. Since then, he has lectured at both undergraduate and postgraduate level on topics such as programming, digital media and computer science. Since 2018, Robert has produced and hosted a podcast The Machine, on which technical topics are discussed at a level suitable for novices. Natasha Kiely has been lecturing in Computer Progamming and Software Development based subjects for the past 20 years. She has delivered modules on programmes including B.Sc in Games Design and Development, Higher Diploma in Software Development and Software Design and Development. Her key areas of interest include Human Computer Interaction, Computing and Modern Culture and Software Engineering. She has worked in the areas of Learning Support and work placement for Computer Science and promotes the adoption of computer science at all levels of education. <\/span><\/h3>

In addition to her lecturing duties Natasha has presented at many educational conferences and technology events such as the MIT App Inventor Conference, the Computers in Education Society of Ireland annual conference, the Excited Digital Learning Festival, European Code Week and the LIT ICT in Education Conference. <\/span><\/h3>

Natasha has worked closely with local primary and secondary schools over many years to deliver workshops in coding and digital skills and other aspects of Computer Science. She is a member of the programme team which has resulted in the development of an M.Sc. in Computer Science for Teachers. She is actively involved in research projects including those for Science Foundation Ireland and Erasmus+. She is currently undertaking her PhD. Michaela Black, Professor at Ulster University, her career has seen her apply Artificial Intelligence and gamification to a wide range of domains including: telecoms, healthcare, finance, education and marketing with 60+ publications and securing \u00a37M+ in pedagogic and research funding.<\/p>

Michaela has actively engaged in a wide range of IT projects securing funding from a wide range of funders. Michaela has just successfully coordinated an EU-funded project MIDAS* (Meaningful Integration of Data, Analytics and Services) 2016-2020. This 40-month project, secured \u20ac4.5m in funding from the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 programme. It delivered Data Science hardware and software solutions to connect fragmented health data and enable policymakers across 4+ European countries to analysis data and enhance policies across a range of diverse topics such as: mental health, obesity, diabetes and looked after children, as well as sharing and ensuring uptake of excellent data access practices such as MIDAS Honest Broker Service.<\/p>

Michaela is a current co-director of the engage** technology, a stakeholder participation system, proven and effective platform for gaining participant input and key consensus on relevant topics using real-time digital technologies. engage has delivered successful engagements in partnership with organisations across government, industry, professional bodies, PPIs, NGOs and academia, on the island of Ireland and across Europe. This work has influenced topics such as Brexit, work force planning in Department of Health and Matrix NI Policy on Women in STEM.<\/p>

An active STEM ambassador, Michaela strives to encourage more women to join this field. Actively part of the Athena Swan (AS) team at UU to promote diversity and equality, and the School of Computing, Engineering and Intelligent Systems AS team which received a Bronze Award. In 2019 she secured\u00a315K funding from EPSRC\/University of Bath Inclusion Matters Scheme, to host a datathon which aimed to improve equality, diversity and inclusion within the engineering and physical sciences.<\/p>
